The firms belonging to the
Consortium Puglia Best Wine will take part in the 17th biennial wine fair in
Bordeaux: the most prestigious wine fair in the world that will be hosted at
the Parc des Expositions from the 16th to the 20th of June. Highlights will
include tastings of the "The great red wines of Salento," as well as
an in-depth look at wine production in the only Italian region to make it into
the “Wine Enthusiast’s” top ten destinations for wine lovers.
Consortium Puglia Best Wine
will offer tastings of "The great red wines of Salento, Negroamaro
and Primitivo" at the Vinexpo wine fair in Bordeaux. The aim is to present
the very best wines produced from Negroamaro and Primitivo to a select audience
composed of accredited foreign and Italian journalists. A designated tasting
point will be set up in the communal area of Consortium Puglia Best Wine. There
will be a wine list from the firms exhibiting at the fair reserved for
journalists and opinion leaders. On Tuesday, the 18th of June, from 12.30 to
14, at the Tasting Lab Hall2, selected labels will be included in the seminar
"Negroamaro and Primitivo: late sun - kissed red wines", edited by
British wine writer Stephen Brook and addressed to a selected audience of
traders, buyers and journalists.
"The quality wines
of Salento particularly those of Primitivo and Negroamaro have gained
international recognition – explains Luigi Rubino, President of the
Association of Puglia Best Wine - these two varieties in particular have
invested wisely in agriculture, in top of the range wine cellars and most
importantly in communication. We are in Bordeaux to represent a line of
production that has chosen to interpret a tradition, a region, and an identity.
We are a close-knit team of seven firms, each with their own unique story, and
yet united under the common goal of open mindedness and a readiness to engage
in dialogue with markets and consumers. Our wines - concludes Luigi Rubino- are
well balanced, encompassing both a typical Mediterranean flavor, but with an
added infusion of fruit and freshness. These features allow us to tap into new
markets in order to engage new consumers, and share our wine expertise,
culture and way of life.”
The seven wine firms that
will be participating at Vinexpo 2013: Agricole Vallone, Candido, Consorzio
Produttori Vini di Manduria, Conti Zecca, Cupertinum – Cantina Sociale
Cooperativa di Copertino, Leone de Castris e Tenute Rubino.
